SKLIP™ System

"Welcome to SKLIP DOT COM"

The SKLIP™ was developed as "the fastening system" for Plastic Lumber.

The SKLIP™ System needed to have a page all its own.

There are three (3) SKLIP™s used in the installation process. If you think this is going to cost lots...think again!

Each fastener will run you only .35 cents a piece with the INSTALLATION GUIDE for the "Do it yourselfer" going @ $25.00.

Want it installed? The Edmonton Siding Centre can offer you one of their qualified contractors to do the installation.

SKLIP™ Identification

"J "-SKLIP™

Used to start the first board.
You can use this same method to fasten the inside board of each step on your stairs.

"SADDLE"-SKLIP™

Used along the groove edge of a board to hold it down to the frame.

"EDGE"-SKLIP™

If you are installing deck boards parallel to the wall, then "EDGE"-SKLIP™s are used to secure the last board along the outer edge of your deck.

At the center three "EDGE"-SKLIP™s, (middle of the board) install screws at the ends of each slot to stabilize the board at the middle of the deck.

If you are installing deck boards perpendicular to the wall, then "EDGE"-SKLIP™s must be used to secure the first board and the last board.

It is customary to finish the deck by covering the face of the frame boards, (header and outside joists) with vertically applied pieces of the tongue and groove lumber. These come from the left over pieces of the deck and stair surface boards. As you can see there is very little wasted using the "EDGE"-SKLIP™ system.

The "EDGE"-SKLIP™ is also needed to secure the outer step boards on all stairs you build out of synthetic-lumber

"L"-SKLIP™

This is a specialty SKLIP™ used for the last board on the edge of the deck, when more than 2" of board expansion and contraction are required. If your deck boards are over 16' long please consult a qualified SKLIP™ representative.
