Greek Cuisine is one of the world's most alluring pleasures:
an earthy mixture of lemon juice, olive oil, mountain herbs, flaky pastry, seafood,
tomatoes and sweet spices make it a gastronomic paradise. You can enjoy all
of this in a restaurant known for its consistency, quality, and attention to
detail that has made SYRTAKI successful in raising the level of Greek Dining
in Edmonton.
What the critics say about SYRTAKI:
"Take some time and enjoy SYRTAKI"
A true Greek Island experience. Fine wine with
Greek Salad, Combination of dipping sauces with
Appetizers (excellent), Great Calamari. There is
something on the menu for everyone, many favorites.
We take clients for business luncheons and always
hear them taking about the wonderful time at
SYRTAKIlong afterwards!
- Greg Reimer, Bulletin International Dot Com
"At SYRTAKI, there is a
decidedly calm path. The music is never
as loud or raucous as the main events
at other tavernas, and even the requisite
belly-dancer has toned down her moves."
- Gordon Morash, Edmonton Journal Feb.7, 1988.
"Greek cooking doesn't get much better
than the work that rolls out of SYRTAKI".
- Wayne Moriarty, Edmonton Journal, July 23, 1993
"SYRTAKI is the best Greek restaurant I've
been to in Edmonton thus far."
Pete Derochers, West End Examiner, July 1, 1994
Winner of best ethnic meal, Edmonton Journal Survey, 1994
Finalist in Best food AND Best international
dining categories of the Where Edmonton Magazine
Most Memorable Meal Awards, 1998, 1999.
Best of Bistro 2003, The Edmonton Journal
Written by Don Barnes and Therese Kehler
The dinner more than lived up to it’s surroundings,
according to our kids the kalakalamria was the best they ever had.
Likewise, Syrtaki got six thumbs up for the Horiatiki Greek Salad,
it’s feta tinged greek meat balls, beef and lamb slovakis and tender flavourful
greek
potatoes. The best thing about Syrtaki is the combination platters.
